Wednesdays in France

We decided to take a coffee stop at Portiers on our way to the Loire in 2008, our second trip to France. Parking in an underground car park, we emerged to be confronted by this amazing house of worship.

  1. My ex-husband and I went to Poitiers few years back. I was very impressed with the inside of the cathedral. I don't think we stayed in the city very long at all as I do not remember anything else about the city.

    1. Nadege - you have an ex-husband, OK I guess many of us have Xs.
Life goes on. Sue and I must return to Poitiers if only just to learn to spell it correctly as Diane quite rightly points out below. I could blame my dyslexic keybooord. Ooops there it goes again.

  2. Yes I also presume you mean Poitiers and not Portiers. We have driven around it so many times but never yet stopped at the town. Must make a visit one day. Have a good day. Diane

  3. Crikey, but your background image stopped me in my tracks! Having been closely observing the river water as it has flooded our land again, for some reason your background image, lovely though it is, sort of put me into a small panic. Silly, I know, but it did! Nice photos though, but did not spend too long looking at them because of this water-thing panicky feeling. I hope I am not getting phobic about looking at expanses of water, even if the water is in a photo! And the river water has receded, so all is well, but it would seem that I have been left with some dregs of anxiety about looking at water!

    1. Vera - I do remember you having this water thing in a previous season. Keep safe and beware of the crocodiles - oops no, that's only in Australia.
